Responsible for developing and managing end-to-end execution of research programs to include analyzing and assessing market trends, customer and stakeholder needs, competitor trends, competitive products and messaging, and other market dynamics, to gain a deep understanding of stakeholder experiences, and market position in support of product development, new business or partnership opportunities, and other strategic initiatives identified by senior management.
This person will lead the research team and work cross-functionally to develop and deliver analysis reports and contribute data, research and analysis findings to executive-level presentations, business plans and go-to-market pilots as requested.
Responsibilities & Duties
Identify and drive research in support of executive leadership needs such as analyzing market trends, business trends, other companies, competitors and vendors to identify and assess new partnership opportunities.
Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team from research, product development, sales, marketing and others to analyze market and business problems and opportunities to identify short and long-term market approaches based on business and customer impact.
Research market conditions in regional and national areas and gather information to determine potential sales of a product or service. Gather intelligence on competitors and analyze their prices, sales and method of marketing and distribution; maintain competitive data and competitive profiles by product(s) or service(s).
Develop analytic models to assess business problems and opportunities; collaborate with product managers and product analysts to apply models and report findings or recommendations.
Present research and analysis reports to executive leadership; facilitate discussions on market, competitor, and other topics; document meeting discussions, findings and output as needed.
Work collaboratively with marketing counterparts to collect and analyze data on customer and stakeholder demographics, preferences, needs and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting market and product development.
Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations and customer needs/behaviors and provide summary analysis for management on a quarterly basis.
Create and maintain a variety of reports including status reports, charts, graphs, analytics, presentations, etc. for documenting and communicating research, analysis, and status of work in progress; develop and deliver presentations to communicate market and product analysis findings to peers and stakeholders.
Develop and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data, such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires, or arranges to obtain existing data to monitor and support research and analysis initiatives. Coordinate and manage data collection activities to achieve targeted insights specs, on time and on budget.
Maintain and manage individual project budgets; lead special research projects as requested.
Consult with executive leadership to finalize project specifications and provide consultative updates.
Manages third-party partners and outsourcing vendors to insure quality standards are met.
Develops a deep understanding of the companys product portfolio, customers, markets and channels.
- Cultivate strong relationships, engage and work with the executive leadership team, company counterparts, as well as peers within the industry and third party services.
