Our Bastion db5 Los Angeles team is in search of a Brand Strategist to support existing client relationships and new. He/She will report into a LA-based Director and will be immediately adaptable to the flexible and innovative culture we champion at Bastion db5.
As part of a team, wed expect you to be immediately able to be part of a live project. You should be able to autonomously manage and execute a project from beginning to end in terms of delivering quality data on time and on spec. This position is balanced between client service/relationship building and performing the operational aspects of executing projects:
Hiring and managing research suppliers
Developing cross-tab and banner plans
Creating code frames for open-end response coding
QA of survey programming
Data tabulation specing, analysis of data and report and recommendation development
QA of research reports
Writing reports including accurate headlines and concise summaries
Coordinating and managing work by other team members (Project Catalysts)
Success in this role requires:
Analytical and creative. Your out of the box thinking impels you to extend assignments beyond linear surveys into online communities, bulletin boards and blogs.
Frustrated by the limitations of traditional quantitative research and long to dive deeper to isolate the nuances that makes the difference between statistical significance and genuine understanding.
Understanding of client needs. Really understand them, or dont stop until you do. Exemplified by your customized approaches to each project.
Self-motivated time- and task-management skills: Is able to independently manage multiple simultaneous projects in a deadline-driven environment. Multi-tasks to stay on top of all responsibilities to ensure expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
Extremely detailed: you are fully attentive to a mass of project details, both obvious and underlying.
Proactive and has sharp critical thinking skills: you visualize a project in terms of next steps and ask relevant questions in order to ensure 100% understanding of a project or problem. Must be able to clearly identify the cause of a problem, determine alternatives/solutions, communicate situation to Clients, then implement action plan.
Superb at relationship-building and teamwork skills: You are outgoing, collaborative and make it a priority to keep all parties updated on project status.
Outstanding with word: both written and verbal. Also good with numbers
Resourceful, with a can-do attitude: you routinely take an Ill make it happen approach and are able to think of creative ways to tackle new challenges.
Fearless: you're comfortable gracefully bugging vendors and clients regarding any unresolved issues or unanswered questions.
Able to manage up. As this position interfaces with senior/executive-level clients and co-workers, you must be able to perceive their needs and communication styles and adapt to them. This requires confidence and initiative in dealing with more senior partners.
Technical skills: A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
