The Director of Consumer Insights is a hands-on research practitioner responsible for research, design and execution. Through utilizing a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques, this role will provide the voice of the consumer to the company, help understand target consumer segments, diagnose current consumer behavior and provide consumer insights to drive future planning in marketing, product development, merchandising and the customer experience. This position is a blend of a data driven marketer, brilliant communicator, and passionate consumer advocate. We have seized upon the opportunity to become a more consumer-centric and data-driven organization and the Director of Consumer Insights will play a crucial role in ensuring that consumers wants and needs are at the center of decision-making.
While we prefer candidates with graduate work in behavioral science or related fields, we are looking first and foremost for people with a passion and interest in consumer psychology and a desire to translate academic principles to real-world challenges. Must have a passion for the consumer and take the initiative to determine ways to improve the customer experience across Woodside Homes, including building relationships across internal partners and stakeholders to drive insight and shape strategy.
Conduct research, extract actionable insights, and share findings with brand-wide partners in a digestible way.
Develop foundational understanding of the consumer at the city level.
Enable and advocate for consumer empathy across the organization through ongoing immersions with consumers, helping build the skills of the organization.
Refine consumer insights through personas/archetypes, JTBD frameworks, journey maps and other tangible and compelling frameworks.
Communicate consumer needs, principles and designs through presentations and prototypes to develop and influence meaningful brand strategies.
Synthesize disparate inputs and assist in moving the organization from abstract to concrete insights, driving clarity, detail and refinement to our strategies and offerings.
Monitor and interpret cultural and social trends, sharing findings and implications as needed.
Leverage many data sources to understand consumer behaviors, translating data to insights shared via relevant and compelling stories.
