An incredible opportunity exists for a talented Director, Secondary Research. The primary focus will be on market and brand tracking, forecasting and ad hoc secondary analytics. You will have an opportunity to work directly with teams, including marketing, market access, sales, supply chain, finance and other home office and corporate personnel to provide insights and recommendations on a variety of issues and imperatives impacting commercial success.
Another important aspect of this role will be to provide decision support for these teams on market trends, product performance, and other aspects affecting inline, pipeline, and business development assessments through data, market research, forecasting and analytics to ensure the successful launch and growth of company products as well as future products and business opportunities. This individual will understand and influence senior leadership to make evidence-based decisions based on analyses.

Expert knowledge of industry secondary research data sources (eg. IQVIA NPA, NSP, IPS, NDTI, Patient Insights, PharmetricsPlus, Medtrack, Decision Resources, Wolters Kluwer/Symphony) and use to answer business questions, build forecasts and evaluations of licensing and business acquisition opportunities.
Expert knowledge of forecast methodologies (eg. epi-based versus demand-based, analogue vs preference share) and use to build revenue based forecasts.
Maintain dashboards of market and target brands performance, utilizing industry data and other intelligence sources and provide counsel and consulting to business partners on current market dynamics. Build and maintain tracking reports on drug performance (eg. forecast to actuals and other KPIs) and lead the monthly business update meeting with key leadership.
Develop and maintain commercial forecasts for company drugs, and provide updates as required (monthly, quarterly, annual /business planning) to commercial leadership, finance and other internal business partners. Identifies areas of financial risk and opportunities for the brand and potential line extensions for one year and 5 year strategic forecast. Ensure insights from forecast are fed into strategic and operational planning processes that drive corporate initiatives and strategic direction.
Liaise with leadership on ad-hoc questions related to drug performance, and other forecast deliverables.
Track launch uptake of drug Demand (down to SKU level) and estimate future demand trends to support internal teams. Participate in monthly Supply Chain meetings.
Design and execute in-depth data analytics projects and market research (data vendor identification, quantitative-based analysis design, analyses, presentation of results) to support forecast assumptions and other secondary market research business questions.
Prepare secondary analyses, market overviews and forecast support, as needed, for new business, ie. drug line extensions, new pipeline products or business development opportunities. Participate in the valuation of US L&A opportunities. Facilitate communications of these analyses to appropriate levels of the organization. Analyzes and recommends new work areas of potential investment from a portfolio perspective.
Maintain industry awareness regarding market trends, competition, and product acceptance affecting the functional area and communicate these to the organization.
