Market Research & Competitive Intelligence Analyst
Branch Group is searching for a Market Research and Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join our well established, growing company. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development, this position will lead the Competitive / Market Intelligence work stream that serves as a critical input to the organization’s strategic decision making.
Conducts market research and performs analysis in support of the organization’s strategic initiatives.This requires a deep understanding of the marketplace through primary and secondary research and involves converting this knowledge into recommendations to assist in strategic management decisions.
Participates in building the organization’s strategic market analysis competencies needed to provide insight to the organization to shape business initiatives.
Analyzes recent and emerging competitor, customer, and industry trends, to determine impact on the company as well as potential opportunities for the organization.
Develops detailed knowledge of customer procurement patterns, competitor bid activities, and competitor technical/business
Collects, analyzes and synthesizes market and competitive insights that provide actionable recommendations, leverages analytical models and frameworks to recommend actions.
Delivers high quality insights and analysis on competition, market trends and emerging business opportunities and threats.
Identifies value propositions which can differentiate our company in the market place.
Builds and manages company-specific and industry-wide competitive intelligence data and ensures proprietary information is protected.
Serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor by developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders to identify key needs and methods of delivering the right intelligence at the right time to the right person.
Works on potential merger or acquisition project activities which may include project management, data management, analysis, opportunity identification, and recommendations.
Serves as subject matter expert and administrator of Cosential (Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software) and Midaxo (M&A - Corporate Development Software).
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in market and/ or competitive intelligence, research and analysis required.
Excellent business acumen, with the ability to extract key strategic insights from detailed analysis.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to break down problems into single and manageable components.
A high level of comfort with ambiguity and experience in 'connecting the dots' across a number of themes.
Intellectual curiosity, strong problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to 'own' a number of tasks simultaneously while delivering against tight delivery timeframes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable preparing and presenting communication for senior executives.
Highly skilled in using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Prior experience with Cosential or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software/SaaS (preferred but not required).
Prior experience with Midaxo or other M&A/Corporate Development/Data Room software/SaaS (preferred but not required).
Must take initiative, be proactive, and have the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
There may be occasional travel for off-site meetings, events or other business matters.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The working days and hours of typically are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
