Boutique custom research agency whose business is based around understanding people by talking, listening, watching to find out what makes them tick and how they interact with brands, products and services is looking to hire a Director of Client Development focusing on growing research practice in North America and Globally. In this position, you will work directly and collaboratively with the US Managing Director in NY to develop NEW and long-lasting client relationships. They need a strategic, high-level hunter in this role that can sell at multiple levels from insights to CMO. The position will be personally responsible for developing executive relationships, establishing a robust pipeline, and ultimately driving new revenue (closing contracts). Location: New York City (remote possibility – will need to travel to in person meetings)

  •         Develop new client relationships while challenging them to think differently
  •         Manage your pipeline with discipline and organization
  •         Run at problems with curiosity and humility
  •         Represent the company and champion the mission at conferences and events
  •         Knows how to have fun and be hardworking to meet deadlines
  •         Be an active team member for every project sold, be invested in the process to grow the
  •         client and ensure accurate delivery of objectives

  •         7+ years of professional experience in client-facing roles, including business development in
  •         market research, analytics sector to insights, advertising, and marketing professionals
  •         Experience selling market research across various industries
  •         Hunter – gets excited about selling and growing a business
  •         Strong literacy of qualitative and quantitative methods is essential and will be discussed
  •         thoroughly in the interview period
  •         Current client networking relationships to flourish
  •         Great presentation and communication skills and ability to command a presence in any room
  •         Experience working with a CRM, competent in the use of Word, and PowerPoint
  •         Comfortable with travel as needed
  •         Consistent prospecting (‘hunting’) using a disciplined, planned approach
  •         Work primarily with totally new clients - maintain and grow the relationship
  •         Ability to get excited about and sell our newest tools and approaches
  •         Be accountable for all aspects of the sales process from prospecting to writing proposals to
  •         closing in order to generate new sales revenue
  •         Identify new business opportunities through your established network, analysis of marketplace
  •         data, and existing knowledge of the market research landscape
  •         Use a consultative sales process and partner with the New York team, as well as Toronto
  •         and London teams. Help to bring visibility around our global research capabilities.
  •         Maintain a sales pipeline, forecast revenues, and provide regular activity reports to the US
  •         Managing Director and broader senior leadership team.
  •         Develop and present sales materials presentations to generate interest in products
  •         and services
  •         Manage a budget (along with Managing Director) to choose relevant conferences and
  •         investments for growth
