Statistician
The Market Research Statistician is a master of quantitative methods. In addition to selecting the appropriate technique, they also conduct the analyses themselves—providing the results to the Research Manager or Research Analyst. Additionally statisticians are often called to ensure quality and validate research findings.
Responsibilities:
- Advising clients and colleagues regarding the appropriateness of available statistical methods to solve a defined business/research problem
- Conducting statistical analyses
- Authoring reports containing actionable recommendations based upon the employed techniques
- Educating and training others regarding statistical methods
- Recommending new product offerings, extensions and enhancements incorporating evolving statistical methods
Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years of experience within the Market Research industry
- Demonstrated ability to function as an independent consultant
- Thorough technical knowledge of relevant statistical methodology
- Mastery of SPSS, SAS, and custom statistical tools
- Masters or Ph.D. in economics, social sciences or statistics
